Jean White
Jean White makes ceramics with a purpose. A keen birdwatcher and conservationist Jean draws on skills gained from her career as an Illustrator to make low relief clay models of birds, cast in plaster moulds and applied or impressed into matte biscuit fired surfaces of clean lined contemporary slip cast porcelain vessels in the manner of Jasper Ware developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the late 18th Century.

Jean's imagery is intended to draw attention to the plight of endangered species of native birds, and those which have already become extinct.
