Annabel Faraday
Annabel Faraday's ceramics are about places, often places in a state of beautiful decay. The work is hand built from slabs decorated using an innovative method of printing onto raw clay.
The vessels, illustrated with her (sometimes digitally altered) photographs and often with maps indicating the source of the photos, are built from the printed slabs, lightly glazed, and fired in an electric kiln to 1240 C. More recently she has also added laser transfers to the fired surface, allowing for finer detail of imagery.
