Carmen's stylised paintings, tell of remembrances of her Chilean homeland, and her extensive travels before settling in the UK. Earthy, colourful images of mountain villages under a burning sun, or symbolic condors and snakes, appear side by side with abstractions of tulips from her West Country garden, conveying a sense of optimism in exile.
