Susie's background in graphic design is evident in the bold composition of her aquatints. Coupled with her assured handling of colour, this highly complex print process creates no hard outlines, allowing her to create images ranging from melting transparency to a velvet depth, perfectly suited to her fascination with movement, as in her images of shoals of fish in sparkling waters, and the swirl of flocks of birds in flight.
