Norman Yap
Norman came to ceramics through the gift of a book which led to taking pottery evening classes as a diversion from his career as a management consultant. Having found his true metier, he developed his skills and personal style to become a full time potter.

From his London studio, working with wheel thrown stoneware, and with porcelain, Norman makes bold vessel shapes. Stoneware bottles and bowls have subtle, mottled glazes and grainy surface textures, contrasting with, and complimentary to delicate interior glazes on smooth porcelain vessels, often altered to become softy undulating fluid forms.
